Principal's Message
We are a small comprehensive public charter high school with two Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs: Heavy and Highway Construction and Event Planning & Tourism. Our school is tuition free and has a statewide catchment area, which means we can accept students from any city or town in the state of Rhode Island.
Founded over 20 years ago through a partnership between the Laborers’ International Union of North America and Cranston Public Schools, our school specializes in helping students prepare for success after high school.
Our construction program is a pre-apprenticeship program. Students who complete the program requirements are eligible to complete 4 weeks of training at the New England Laborers Training Academy in Pomfret, CT during the summer after graduation. After the successful completion of that training, students receive their union card with Laborers International of North America and go to work making great wages with generous benefits.
Our Event Planning & Tourism program prepares students for an exciting career in one of Rhode Island’s fastest growing industries. Students in this program learn about hotels, food and beverage, cruises, weddings, event planning, management and operations. Field trips to the convention center, TF Green Airport, hotels and restaurants bring the classroom to life and help students understand the multitude of employment opportunities in this industry.
Students who attend our school take courses to fulfill the 24 credits required to earn their Cranston Public Schools high school diploma. Our small school environment supports students academically and socially. Upon graduation, our students are prepared to continue their education and begin a career.
I thank you for your interest in our school. If you think we might be a good fit for you or your student, please reach out to the main office to schedule a tour. I’ll be happy to meet with you to discuss how we can provide an education for your future.
